Food of the Week: Broad Beans
It’s June, which means broad beans are beginning to come into season. We love broad beans because they are full of protein, fibre, vitamins A and C, potassium and iron. They also contain a chemical that aids your body’s production of dopamine, which is crucial to your health and wellbeing.
Broad beans are thought to have originated from the Mediterranean and today the beans grow in mild climates around the world. They are very popular in China and a vital part of Egyptian cuisine.
You can buy broad beans at your local supermarket but for the freshest beans try visiting a farmers market.
